This Saturday sees our Intermediate footballer's play in their first IFC semi-final since being regraded following our Co. Junior Championship win 2013.
We face a tough task in facing Cill na Martra, who have been favourites to win this year's Championship since the outset.
Having already reached the final of the County Div.2 Football League & following their tremendous run in this year's Comhórtas Peile , Cill na Martra are flying high at the minute & that's not to mention the success of their u21 team who have also reached the semi-final of this year's Co. Championship.
However, Saturday's game is one that Mitchelstown are looking forward to taking part in as this is the time of year & stage of competition that we have been aiming to be involved at since Shane Ronayne took over the position of coach at the start of this year.
We have played Cill na Martra three times since our return to the Intermediate grade having twice suffered narrow losses to them in both League & Championship in 2015 before Town had the upper hand in our Tom Creedon Cup clash in January of 2016.
There is a real buzz about the town at present in the build up to this game & the Team has built some momentum with this being their 5th game in five weeks. Everyone is fit & ready to be called upon so we wish team & management well & hope that another win can be achieved against the odds.
Please come out in force to lend your support for the Team. The game takes place on tomorrow, Saturday 30th of September at 4.30pm in Banteer.
